Striped Rock

On January 26, 2005, Bill Sweezy announced the launch of Striped Rock, LLC, a Charlotte-based firm that brings its specialized expertise to the senior-related industry by offering senior network marketing and media solutions. The firm handles contract publishing, media placement, marketing consulting and public relations.

In addition to these services, Striped Rock, LLC developed US wide Senior Professional Industry Network (www.usspin.org). This national site hosts a unique interactive resource environment for the senior-related industry professional which allows the user to post News & Developments, Educational Opportunities, Conferences, Special Events, and Employment Opportunities. The site also allows users to opt-in to receive weekly "SPINMails" of all of the postings.

In the spring of 2005, Striped Rock researched and produced All About Seniors, a referral-based, comprehensive senior resource directory that was introduced in the Upstate/Greenville, SC region in partnership with Senior Action, the Greenville Council on Aging. After only a year, Striped Rock has published more than 75,000 copies of All About Seniors and continues to serve the Upstate area by providing this unprecedented source of information to the senior industry.

As the need for this vital information continues to grow throughout our region, Striped Rock, LLC was motivated to introduce a sister publication called All For Seniors in the Greater Charlotte area beginning in December 2006. Anja Workman, an experienced senior industry professional, is the editor and sales manager for the publication. All For Seniors grew from 92 pages to 108 pages after the first issue. The response to this type of resource and referral directory in our area has been tremendous.

After being endorsed by numerous community agencies including the Council on Aging, Mecklenburg County Senior Centers, Charlotte Chamber, Just One Call and many other local health related associations, All For Seniors recently received another unprecedented stamp of approval. Centralina Area Agency on Aging, the region's government agency dedicated to being the residents' advocate and mediator for the entire senior industry, has provided their expertise and information to help us create a powerful, educational and resource tool for this area.

Striped Rock, LLC is currently preparing to expand its "Resource & Referral Directories" into other markets throughout the Carolinas.
